As the global coronavirus pandemic continues, Boyd & Moore took an in-depth look at the people impact for businesses across APAC. Whilst this is a snapshot, taken over the past week amidst policy changes and shifts in lockdown measures, having surveyed over 200 APAC business leaders from our client side and 500 executive level candidates, a surprisingly optimistic picture emerges.
Key Insights
Overwhelmingly, 96% of leaders are satisfied to some extent with the response of their organizations to COVID-19. Employees, on the other hand, are less satisfied, scoring 15 percentage points lower in their satisfaction levels. However, 77% of the employees we surveyed did approve of their company’s contingency plans.
Unsurprisingly, respondents across Industries stated that the pandemic is impacting their business to some extent, with 81% of leaders stating they anticipate the range of that impact to be from ”moderately high” to “changes everything”.
75% of businesses cited having a current hiring freeze or are adopting a cautious approach to future hiring. Of those, 9% are considering a potential downsizing of their business.
