Former candidate becomes client to backfill her role as HR Director of an industrial MNC

    The Client

A US-based MNC offering building and automotive-related products and services, needed to replace their HR Director. They required someone with successful experience handling HR transformation projects within a large-scale manufacturing organization.

    The Challenge

The client’s regional management were unhappy with search support they’d historically been getting within one particular market. Prior to their becoming our client, we had worked with their HR Director in the past as a candidate.

When she was planning to leave the client, she asked us to help backfill her position as she hadn’t been happy with the support she’d been getting on the search so far and she was very happy with how we had supported her efforts to locate another position.

The main challenge for this search was filling the role quickly enough to minimize the lag between last day of departing HR Director and first day of the new Director’s on-boarding.

    Our Solution

We were able to market map and benchmark within 2 days due to our strength in this area. Within one week first round interviews and within the second week all shortlist interviews were completed.

We continued developing a handful of backup candidates, in parallel, in case it became necessary to expand the pool of candidates submitted.

Of the 3 candidates who went to final round with the global HR team and business leaders, the preferred candidate was identified, offered, and closed.

The process lasted approximately 3 weeks from beginning to end. The client’s time without an HR Director in place was basically minimal.  Despite the expedited approach, the client expressed her surprise at the quality of service given throughout the process.
