North Asia Head for OSS/BSS SW Leader
Because Japan is Asia’s biggest market for mobile technology, the candidate was expected to be based in Tokyo and well-connected in its carrier industry. As a result of this our biggest challenge was finding candidates who were experienced with the technology. Over the past decade Japanese telecommunication carriers have relied primarily on developing their own complex OSS/BSS systems in-house rather than buy from international vendors. There are very few candidates with OSS/BSS experience in the context of international companies.
We were able to complete the search within four weeks and come in well under the client’s budget. With extensive experience in Asia’s network technology sector, our team could rely on a deep knowledge and network of present and past players. Although the pool of candidates was extremely limited, we were able to draw on recent searches performed in the same sector and quickly isolate the key targets. The successful candidate is the only candidate in the market with continuous relevant technology experience over the past 15 years and both client and candidate are excited with the match.
