Rashi’s Growth Journey at Boyd & Moore Executive Search

Rashi joined Boyd & Moore Executive Search in January 2021 as a Research Analyst supporting the Japan market. Since then, she has progressed to Deputy Manager, now supporting delivery across multiple industry verticals within the Japan practice.

Her role focuses on ensuring leadership searches run smoothly and result in the right hire, combining direct work with candidates and coordination of the research and sourcing teams that identify potential talent.

The professional path Rashi ultimately took was not part of her original plan.

“I didn’t grow up thinking i'd work in this industry,” she says. “But somewhere along the way, it became part of who I am.”

Growing Through Ownership

In her early years, Rashi focused on Technology and Life Science searches. Over time, she expanded her scope to FMCG and Luxury, while stepping into broader operational leadership.

Today, her role blends hands-on delivery with team oversight, supporting talent development teams to ensure searches move efficiently.

“Closing a role takes collective effort. Whenever it’s needed, I step in to support the process, because real leadership is about accountability and driving outcomes.”

That mindset shaped her progression from execution focused researcher to someone aligning multiple teams toward a single outcome.

Understanding market for executive search

Learning the Realities of the Market

Executive search in Japan demands patience and precision.

“There was a lot of talk about how placements in Japan can take time,” Rashi recalls. “So I focused on staying disciplined, consistent in my effort, and trusting the process.”

Her first placement came seven months in, reinforcing that consistency matters.

In one medical device search for a regulatory leader, the process extended over six months, with nearly 200 profiles mapped in a highly conservative candidate market, offering a clear view of candidate motivations, market constraints, and how to position opportunities more effectively.

“It was challenging because we could see the effort, but not the immediate outcome,” she says. “Sometimes timing and market realities play their part.”

On the other hand, she recently supported a Country Head mandate. Within 20 days, she identified a candidate who progressed to the final stage in a highly competitive process, highlighting the team’s ability to move quickly and align at the senior leadership level

Stepping Into Client Conversations

One defining moment came during a mandate with a client, a prominent online Japanese dating platform. Having been closely involved from the initial briefing through to execution, Rashi was given the opportunity to represent the Candidate feedback and market updates in a client discussion.

“The TA and HR teams started to get to know me,” she shares. “They were asking about market challenges, candidate feedback, and what we were seeing on the ground.”

Because she was deeply engaged in candidate conversations, she was able to provide real-time insights into why certain profiles resonated and others did not. Being trusted to contribute directly in those conversations strengthened both delivery and client confidence – and reinforced her belief that ownership and visibility go hand in hand.

The Culture Behind the Growth

Rashi describes the culture at Boyd & Moore in three words: supportive, collaborative, growth-focused.

“You see people who’ve been here 7, 15, even 20 years,” she says. “That gives you confidence that the company grows its people with the business.”

Her progression from Research Analyst to Deputy Manager within five years reflects that environment. Responsibility expanded gradually, as she consistently stepped into new opportunities.

“If I had to give advice to someone starting,” she says, “I’d say take ownership, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to step up. It’s not about getting everything right. It’s about trying until you do.”

In a market where trust, timing, and precision define success, her journey illustrates how executive search careers are built steadily through accountability, adaptability, and consistent performance.
