500km in 4 days – the Knights in White Lycra (KIWL) have done it again. In June 2019, 42 heroic riders cycled through the scenic Tohoku countryside to raise money for an amazing cause. For the 7th consecutive year, Boyd & Moore Executive Search (BMES) cheered them on as one the main sponsors of the ride.

While all riders made it safely to the final destination, the tour didn’t go as smoothly as the peloton had hoped. “Three riders were blown off their bikes in gale force winds outside Niigata and we had to abort some of day 3 as it was too dangerous,” says Robert Williams, Founder of KIWL.

But all the dangers were forgotten, when the riders arrived at their final destination, a children’s home for underprivileged youth, and were told that they had raised more than 10M Yen for their chosen charity!

This year the money goes to YouMeWe, a Tokyo-based charity that educates children in institutionalized homes in IT, giving them both employable skills and self-confidence. If you would like to donate or become a sponsor of the KIWL, please check their homepage.

“We’re very happy that the KIWL continue their efforts to support children in need and that we got invited to support them again this year,” says Tony Moore, Co-Founder of BMES. “As a talent solutions firm we’re of course very happy to see that the money goes into the education of future IT and leadership talent – we need more expert candidates!”
